Previous OFVPP work
The county profiles build on the previous research conducted by the OFVPP, which began with White Paper on Improving Family Violence Prevention in Ohio (2008), which examined the problem in Ohio and offered policy recommendations for preventing family violence or better addressing it when it does occur (that report and subsequent publications can be found here).

Ohio Family Violence County Profiles

Each county profile provides credible estimates on how many...

  • children are abused or neglected;
  • women are physically abused by a current or former intimate partner; and
  • seniors are abused or neglected.

...and includes data on the average number of:

  • reports of abuse and neglect filed with children's services;
  • arrests related to intimate partner violence;
  • requests for civil protection orders;
  • reports of abuse and neglect for seniors in the community;
  • reports of abuse and neglect for seniors in long term care facilities
