These two white papers explore the different strategies and options for expanding health care coverage in Ohio.
- A Review of Health Coverage Expansion Strategies and Lessons for Ohio reviews the range of policy options being implemented in various states and nationally to extend affordable health coverage to more residents and examines the lessons learned from other states’ experiences.
- Coverage Expansion Reform Options for Ohio begins the process of developing policies to cover the uninsured in Ohio. First, the report authors synthesize and summarize the highlights of a series of interviews with key health stakeholder in Ohio, relate the key findings from their interviews to lessons learned from reviewing other states’ experiences, and blend this information with their sense of the climate for reform in Ohio. The authors then draw on both the findings from their research and their own experience with policy analysis to develop a continuum of options, ranging from the more incremental to the more comprehensive, that would reduce the number of the uninsured in Ohio.
